Emotions - Day 5: Today I want to explore the emotion of Anger/Angry and what it looks like on the face of both Men and Women.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Anger can be a particularly powerful emotion characterized by hostility, agitation, frustration, and antagonism toward others. Like fear, anger can affect the body's fight-or-flight response.
When a threat generates feelings of anger, you may be inclined to fend off the danger and protect yourself. Anger is often displayed through:
Facial expressions: such as frowning or glaring
Body language: such as taking a strong stance or turning away
Tone of voice: such as speaking gruffly or yelling
Physiological responses: such as sweating or turning red
Aggressive behaviors: such as hitting, kicking, or throwing objects
While anger is often thought of as a negative emotion, it can sometimes be a good thing. It can be constructive in helping clarify your needs in a relationship, and it can also motivate you to take action and find solutions to things that are bothering you.
However, anger can become a problem when it is excessive or expressed in unhealthy, dangerous, or harmful ways. Uncontrolled anger can quickly turn to aggression, abuse, or violence.
This type of emotion can have both mental and physical consequences. Unchecked anger can make it difficult to make rational decisions and can even have an impact on your physical health
Anger has been linked to coronary heart diseases and diabetes. It has also been linked to behaviors that pose health risks such as aggressive driving, alcohol consumption, and smoking.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
We all know what anger looks and sounds like. We all have been angry at some time in our lives to one degree or another. Maybe we have been angry with someone or someone has been angry with us.
The jaw clenches, teeth usually bared as we yell at someone, the forehead and nose bridge wrinkles, the tendons and muscles in our neck and shoulders tighten and strain. The shoulders and the back usually curls forward and we might find our fists clenching as the anger rises in our throats like a volcano about to erupt.
Out all 4 images of the man I don't think there can be any disagreement that he is evidently showing anger. But there is a progression occurring in the degree of anger I feel. Moving from top left to bottom left then top right and bottom right.
In the woman though I see varying degrees of anger expressed. The top and bottom left feel like that simmering anger where she is trying to contain the emotion with the jaw clenching shut, which eventually moves to her being about to yell out angrily and finally her full wrath is unleashed.
In both I just noticed as well the look in the eyes. Its piercing and threatening in nature for both the man and woman.
Have I just not really noticed that the images may indeed be showing a progression through the emotions? Is this something the AI is doing intentionally?....hmmm
Id love to hear your thoughts on this emotion and the generated images in addition to my take on it.
