The Arena Content Moderation Policy

Prohibited Content

One of The Arena’s core missions is to empower content creators to express themselves more effectively and to better monetize their work using Web3 tools. The Arena provides a platform for a variety of online content and activities, including but not limited to livestreaming, uploads, written posts, and interactive features. This policy aims to cultivate a vibrant social environment that champions creativity, freedom of expression, and meaningful engagement, while remaining free from illegal, harmful, or toxic content and interactions. This moderation policy is a living document and may be updated over time based on feedback from the community, moderators, policy experts, and other stakeholders.

Content or activities containing any of the following are prohibited and subject to immediate removal, and users may be suspended from future access to The Arena or to specific features of the platform:

Appropriateness of Content

Aside from the prohibitions listed above, The Arena does not intend to universally define what content is ‘appropriate’ or ‘inappropriate.’ There is an implicit assumption that some content - perhaps much content - generally defined as NSFW will in fact appear on The Arena. The Arena reserves the right to unilaterally determine, in its sole discretion, the appropriateness of content or activities where necessary and to moderate them accordingly.

Enforcement

Violation of this policy may result in the removal of content and termination of user account(s). This policy is enforced at the sole discretion of The Arena. Users may report certain content or activities that are inappropriate for The Arena, and our moderators may use these reports to inform their decisions to remove prohibited content and suspend and ban users accordingly. While our moderators work diligently to ensure that this policy is not violated, we may not discover every violation of this policy or it may take some time for our moderators to enforce the policy once a violation is reported. The publication of material which violates this policy and is not discovered by our moderators does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce this policy at any time nor with respect to any subsequently posted content. Content or activities determined to violate these rules will be removed. The Arena reserves the right to ban any user violating these rules and to make appropriate referrals to law enforcement if any posted content or activities violates the law. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, all content is the sole responsibility of the person who originated such content. The Arena may not monitor or control the content posted and has no responsibility for such content.

Creator Responsibilities

How Does My Account Get Unbanned?

Our moderators are human and humans make mistakes sometimes. We acknowledge that mistakes may be made in enforcing this policy and, to the extent a user believes that their account has been mistakenly banned and does not violate any of The Arena’s policy, such user may appeal the banning of their account by emailing contact@arena.social. However, The Arena retains the ultimate discretion to determine whether the user violated any of The Arena’s policy and to ultimately enforce or remove the ban.
