i had some feelings while we were apart. i’ll share them with the arena now…
like at the end of fear & loathing when “thompson” was summing up the late 60’s, it’s not something you can easily understand unless you were there. you can’t catch it in a camera lens. and, no matter the story teller, you just won’t quite feel it like being there. it was a movement more than anything. it was the closest you could be to web3 without knowing it. and, it was truly free in both senses of the word. the people, alpha, and memes were flying high. the vibes were so squeaky clean and good, a 3 day rave in the desert couldn’t compete (although it’s a close second). for real, if you faded, you couldn’t know. x is nothing like it and never will be. and, the people you see that are filled with complete vitriol and seething never even stepped a foot inside. wether it comes back or not, it will be looked upon by attendees as the greatest thing to happen in 2023. and, to stand in it’s way is to be on nixon’s side in the late 60’s/early 70’s. but, at least, as arena warriors, we can be thankful we got to spend a couple great weeks together in a spectacle that won’t soon be rivaled. 🍻 to my fellow warriors & gladiators. i hope to see you again on the inside. and, the same goes to all who faded. we’ll welcome you as we would any other. but, not without a little razzing.
“And that, I think, was the handle—that sense of inevitable victory over the forces of Old and Evil. Not in any mean or military sense; we didn’t need that. Our energy would simply prevail. There was no point in fighting—on our side or theirs. We had all the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave. . . .” - hunter s. thompson
