The work depicts an unlikely reunion. A reunion not just between individuals, but with pasts, dreams, and long-forgotten parts of ourselves. In a surreal setting, characters with childlike faces but adult expressions sit around a table, surrounded by symbols of childhood memories: rabbits, wildflowers, dolls, and an old television set that features the brain as the center of memory.
A giant rabbit head in the center of the table becomes the center of emotional gravityβa metaphor for the collective memories they share. It represents a past that is big, gentle, yet mysterious. The children wear rabbit masks and contrasting clothing, as if they are trying to re-identify versions of themselves while still carrying the wounds and growth they have experienced.
A goldfish floating in the air represents a floating memoryβbeautiful, yet fragile. A teapot filled with eyes shows how in reunions we look at each other, judging each other, and trying to understand how time has changed us. The television set with the brain suggests that this reunion is also taking place inside the mindβan intense, personal flashback.
"Reunion in the Garden of Memory" is not just a meeting between old friends, but a spiritual journey to make peace with ourselves and the memories that shape who we are today.
