Have you ever thought about why space is dark given all of the stars and galaxies that it hosts...? One of the reasons is that the universe is so vast and mostly empty that there is nothing for photons, light, to interact with. The reason we are able to observe what we observe is because light constantly bounces off of the objects that we see and is then absorbed by our eyes. Think of all of the fine textures that we are capable of observing because of this, the light bouncing off of all of the fine angles to generate the textures that we observe. Remarkable... While all of this takes place within a limited range of the electromagnetic spectrum, which implies how limited our range of perception actually is...
