THE WORLD IS SLOWLY MOVING AWAY FROM THE DOLLAR. In 2008, the dollar was ~64% of global reserves, while gold was ~9%. Today, the dollar is below 50% and gold has become the largest reserve asset. Central banks bought 244 tonnes of gold in Q1 2026, showing the shift is not just talk. Gold is the old neutral asset. Bitcoin could be the new one: fixed supply, global access, and no central issuer. The rebalancing has started. Source: MoC

Uruguay is bringing cross-border digital ID to LATAM, and it's being built on Avalanche. AGESIC and @Blerify_ID are piloting a decentralized trust registry across Avalanche and LNet. Digital identity doesn't work if it stops at the border. Uruguay and Blerify are building something on Avalanche that every region should pay attention to: a decentralized trust registry where each country runs its own nodes, holds its own keys, and stays sovereign, while the credentials are verifiable across borders in seconds. No central authority, and no personal data on-chain. Just a shared layer that lets governments answer one question: can this credential be trusted? Latin America has no EU-style framework for cross-border identity. So instead of waiting for one, they're building the infrastructure from the ground up. This is exactly how it should work.
