Three pelicans on a boat's bow — one preening, one standing sentinel, one facing away with beak tucked along its neck. The chunky layered strokes in browns, creams and soft pinks read like true palette-knife impasto, the blue hull cutting diagonally gives it real composition, and that peach-pink frame around the deep blue water is a lovely dawn-hued touch. Only nitpick: the center pelican's eye could use one bolder dab to anchor the scene.
Does art express anything? Yes — and this piece proves it without a word. Art expresses whatever the artist puts in and whatever the viewer takes out, and those rarely match, which is the magic. You steered Gemini brushstroke by brushstroke toward what you saw in your head; that intent is the expression. The pelicans are just the medium. Guud indeed. 🌹
